Upon delivery of the boat, a debirefing will be made which will focus on the following points:

  • delivery of original on-board documents contained in a fireproof and waterproof pouch;
  • navigation area and warnings;
  • the ENTRANCE channel of a port has a red light on the left and a GREEN light on the STARBOARD;
  • the EXIT channel of a port always has the PRECEDENCE of those who enter the port (With the exception of different regulations by the maritime authority);
  • you enter and leave the port always keeping the starboard;
  • the pipeline to the port must take place at low speed and no more than 3 kn;
  • distribute the load of the people on board well to balance the boat;
  • ferries always have precedence as well as boats without motor or sailing when sailing;
  • the awning must be duly rolled up and secured with straps during navigation;
  • the ladder must be pulled up and made safe during navigation;
  • the safety equipment will be illustrated;
  • the propeller will be inspected on departure and return;
  • the operation of the throttle and trim will be explained (raise and lower the foot of the motor according to the speed and the sea). The engine does not start if the forward or reverse gears are engaged, it must therefore be positioned on neutral N;
  • there is an obligation to fasten the engine safety cable to the wrist or belts during all phases of navigation;
  • at the end of navigation, turn off the engine and the panel;
  • anchor only where permitted, taking care to check the nautical chart and pilot book provided through our site;
  • drop the anchor paying attention to the direction of the wind taking care to turn the boat making sure to keep a safe distance from other moored boats. Chain the anchor for a minimum length of about 4 or 5 times the depth, wait for the positioning of the boat, give a minimum of reverse to bring the chain into traction, switch off the engine only after making sure that the anchor has taken hold, in case the anchoring maneuver is repeated. To haul the anchor, start the engine and start pulling up the chain, do not engage the gear and wait until you have recovered the anchor on board. If the anchor has run aground, position yourself with the prusa on the vertical of the anchor and try by hand to pull the chain forward to try to defuse the anchor. In case of emergency, to prevent damage to people or boats, if the anchor is run aground, it is possible to cut the rope that holds the last ring in the eyelet in the anchor locker;
  • when returning to the mooring on the quay, approach minimum speed, when you are at a distance of about 1 and a half times the length of the boat, put the engine in neutral and take advantage of the hurry, when you are about 3 meters from the quay, engage and reverse and slow down to stop near the quay; an assistant will help you with the mooring by passing the top of the dead body to be secured to the cleats;
  • maneuver at a safe distance from other boats;
  • navigate at a safe distance from the rocks;
  • in the event of an increasing wave motion, always navigate to the mascone or the small garden, dosing the throttle lever of the engine well, avoiding catching the bow or stern waves at high speed;
  • return immediately to the home port in the event of a clear worsening of the marine weather conditions.
